Description
Push more onto a single cart than the usual flashcarts allow. The CatFlash 64 packs a full 64 Mbit (8 MB) of reprogrammable flash onto your Sega Mega Drive / Genesis — twice the capacity of typical 4 MB flashcarts — with no mapper chip in the way.
It pulls this off with a smart hardware trick: by wiring the cartridge select signal to the 68000's A22 line, the board sidesteps the Mega-CD address collision that normally limits carts to 32 Mbit. The result is one clean, flat 8 MB space — perfect for large homebrew releases, demos, romhacks, and dev builds.
Reprogram it as many times as you like. Saving is handled in flash through SGDK's built-in flash save manager, so here's no coin-cell battery to die or replace.
